		<description><![CDATA[New competition! create a new book jacket for a classic novel.]]></description>

<p>Aim: <em>to create a new book jacket for a classic novel. A classic novel is defined as one whose title is familiar to lettered people. &#8220;Lettered people&#8221; are those who recognise the titles of classic novels.<br />
</em></p>
<p>Prize(s): <em>the warm glow of achievement &amp; perhaps a bauble or trinket.</em></p>
<p>Method: <em>combine an inappropriate image with a paronomasiac title. (Thank you Dr Gillard for this succinct wording.)</em></p>
<p>Format: <em>any standard graphic file type (jpg, gif etc) Maximum width 520px. Attach file to email.</em></p>

<p>Nine two letter words! The Wordability judges deliberated long past their bedtimes: was this an actual English poem? Some said no, others didn&#8217;t hear the question. But the oldest judge pointed out that it was (a) unquestionably a poem (b) in English, even if (c) line 3 resembled something he once saw on a Serbo-Croatian desk calendar.</p>
<p>We do not expect to see a better entry or a wittier last line. If Dr Gillard would forward us a stamped addressed envelope his prize will be on the way.</p>
